What is Soundings Alliance for Companion Species?
Soundings Alliance for Companion Species is a gathering that’s like none other---focused, intelligent, respectful of science but freethinking. Soundings is not an organization but a gathering of professionals with strong principles, powerful commitments, and original ideas.

Soundings Alliance is a destination for conversation about animal behavior problems and animal-human relationships. The regulars in this place include noted behavior consultants, behaviorists, trainers, applied behavior analysts, psychologists, family therapists, veterinarians, information researchers, teachers, writers, and other creative professionals who are dedicated to helping companion animals and their families.

Soundings Alliance professionals want to swap information, refine assessment skills, test their convictions, develop original protocols, and banter with one another in wide-ranging conversations. They want increased opportunity---to build their practices and extend their influence according to their talents and capabilities.

Soundings Alliance participants want to be effective and humane and state-of-the-art in their practices. They embrace current best-practice thinking in applied behavior analysis and want to learn about a wide range of theoretical models that might also shed light on problems.

Participants are not bound to political correctness. A wide range of ideas can be put forth for discussion. SoundingsAlliance is not for everyone. This is partially because members may be expected to define their position and defend their points of view on various issues.

Soundings Alliance is the group’s project. Members share responsibility for getting it to work. The structure is simple. Participants can invest as much or as little time as they want. There are a few rules to protect core values such as positive regard and professionalism. All members will have additional opportunities to lead and establish themselves as experts in areas of expertise.

What is Soundings Mission?

  • To improve participants ability to meet the needs of animals with issues and to enhance animal-human relationships
